Your Weekend: December Eve
Things to do before, during and after wearing green and (red) this weekend:
Friday November, 30:
- “Amadeus” is being performed by the Generic Theatre Company in the Lisner Downstage tonight at 8pm. Tickets are $5. Also being performed on Saturday at 3pm and 8pm.
- Jukebox the Ghost is performing with Ra Ra Riot at the Rock and Roll Hotel at 7pm. More info in the previous post.
- Treat it to Defeat it AIDS rally, from 1 to 3pm. Lafayette Square in front of the White House.
- World AIDS day Candlelight Vigil. 5:30 to 7pm in DuPont Circle.
- Sons of Pitch Fall Blow Out concert. $3 with GWorld. 7:30 at the German Church (corner of 20th and G).
- Washington Improv Theatre’s Seasonal Disorder opens tonight at Source (1835 14th St NW). Tickets are $12. Highly recommended.
- The Savages is in theatres today. Word has it, it’s Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s best work to date.
Saturday, December 1
- Dance against AIDS is being hosted by GW Unicef. It runs from 7pm to 2am inside the Columbian Square section of the Marvin Center. $5.
- Auditions for the Vagina Monologues start at 4pm and run until 7pm. The performance is being hosted by FMLA. Marvin Center 419.
- GW men’s basketball plays Auburn during the BB&T classic. $10 in the Verizon Center. 2:30pm.
- Fall Film Series: The Invasion! This film was shot on GW’s campus and stars Nicole Kidman. Screenings at 7pm and 10pm from Program Board. MC Continental Ballroom.
Sunday, December 2
- Gelman Library International Film Series. Swiss film “L’accord.” Free in the basement of Gelman. 7pm.
