Heath Ledger is Dead
According to the NY Times, actor Heath Ledger was found dead in NYC about an hour and a half ago. He was found by his house keeper with pills next to body.
Edit: According to HuffPo, it has been confirmed that closed prescription bottles were found near the bed, however he appears to have died from pneumonia. The family is reporting that this was in no way a suicide or a drug overdose.

I had the same reaction. I mean, if any celebrity were to randomly pass away, I would’ve though for sure it would have been Amy Wienhouse or Britney Spears or some other celebrity with major issues…
According to what I read from a few websites, they were sleeping pill bottles. One over the counter and one prescription. He said in a past interview that he was having trouble sleeping while filming as the Joker because it’s such a depraved, murderous character.
My mom called to tell me and for about 5 minutes I thought it was a joke and could not believe it. It’s so mind-blowing that this would happen to him of all people. His poor family. His poor 2-year old daughter.
this throws me for a compete loop - he is about the last person i would think to randomly die. a fine actor with a lot of potential… man this is just depressing - it doesn’t make any sense.
