Live Blogging Run-Off Election Results (Vishal Wins!)
All right. We’re live-blogging the run-off results. Travis and young Corin are here representing.
8:50pm. Corin votes.
8:52pm. No one’s here yet. We’re hanging out with Andrew and Emily from the Hatchet. They seem like good people.
8:53pm. Nicole Capp just said fuck.
8:55pm. She’s denying it. It might not be true. She responded with “Sunshine, Dogs and Princesses.”
8:56pm. Purple SHIRTS. THEY ARE HERE!
8:57pm. Mediocre dancing from Andrew at the Hatchet. We move much better.
9:00pm. The polls are closed. Based on exit poll results, The Colonialist projects that VISHAL ASWANI will win the SA Presidential Election.
9:01pm. Cherry Tree takes pictures of us.
9:03pm. Everyone from Vishal’s camp arrives. Who could of thought so many people could wear such ugly colors at one time?
9:04pm. I just heard the phrase “write for a real paper.” WHO COULD THEY BE TALKING ABOUT?
9:05pm. Elliot Bell Kraiser and Tim Gowa are about to fight. It’s crazy. Blood everywhere.
9:07pm. Phantom Menace is playing. The music.
9:09pm. David Earl arrives. Cameras everywhere.
9:12pm. Corin vetoed a lame live blog post. I want a Twizzler.
9:13pm. The Hatchet blog is doing homework and talking on iChat. I want live blog competition. And a Twizzler.
9:16pm. I was just tipped off by The Hatchet that some yellow shirt-ed kid Knits during SA meetings.
9:18pm. Kevin shows up fashionably late with entourage. Six people. All attractive.
9:20pm. Worst music choices ever by the SA. I hold Ben something personally responsible.
9:21pm. Ben Something says the word “ass.” No comment from his aides yet. I can’t hate. He’s got a Pocket Square.
9:22pm. FAST TALKING MEETING STARTED.
9:22pm. RESULTS ARE OFFICIAL.
9:23pm. JOKESJOKEJOKESJOKEJOKESJOKES. They’re pretending to adjourn.
9:24pm. 1,379 Votes for (3,077), 1,678 SOMETHING SOMETHING
9:24pm. Vishal officially wins. HE IS BEING LIFTED ONTO PEOPLES SHOULDERS
9:25pm. The Colonialist officially endorses Vishal Aswani for SA President.
9:26pm. Heard from passerby, “Party at Froggy for Vishal supporters.” Everyone’s leaving. We’re so lonely.
9:28pm. 55% to 45% final percentages, according to Elliot. He also told us earlier some of our reporting was inaccurate. We agree.
9:31pm. Only purple shirts remain. Vishal is talking into a voice recorder. Probably a Hatchet voice recorder. We should get a voice recorder. Tim almost falls over chairs while taking pictures.
9:33pm. Hatchet blogger Andrew is upset because his blog post says by Emily. When we met them at 8:52pm, they were friends. Now, I’m not so sure. MORE AS IT BREAKS.
9:34pm. Update. They fixed it. Perhaps there was never a problem at all.
9:36pm. Air quotes were used to suggest there is a party. The SA is known for their parties
9:38pm. People are reading the blog over my shoulder. I think everyone’s drunk. No, I’m fucking serious.
9:43pm. We wanted to be the last ones here. We just realized that’s a terrible idea. I’m getting the hell out of here.
