receSs Presents COMEDY WEEK 2008

On Monday, March 3, receSs is helping Rooftop Comedy host “The National College Comedy Competition 2008″ in Betts Theatre. Slots are still open and the four national winners will compete in Aspen, Colorado for the title of “America’s Funniest College Comedian.” The show is free at 8pm. [Facebook Event]
On Tuesday, March 4, receSs is performing with the best improvisers in DC, as the Washington Improv Theatre comes to GW. receSs and WIT will perform longform improv comedy. 7pm in Betts Theatre. [Facebook Event]
On Friday, March 7, receSs has a straight up improv and sketch comedy show. GW’s oldest and only comedy group has a show at midnight in the Continental Ballroom. Featuring sketches they performed at the National College Comedy Festival (where DC Pierson of “Derrick Comedy” the makers of “Bro Rape” called them “a bunch of great writers and nice guys”). On Saturday, March 8, 3/8 of receSs are representing GW at DC’s improv tournament battle royal called “F.I.S.T.” The Fighting Improv Smackdown Tournament takes place at the Flashpoint Theatre at 9:30pm (916 G St NW.) The tournament is judged by audience applause so come show your support for Travis, Kevin and Darren (3/4 of The Colonialist’s writers and 3/8 of receSs). [Facebook Event]It’s a week full of comedy. if there were one week of the year I decided to come to DC, this would not be it.
it would be the week of the cherry blossoms.
but I guess if that didn’t work out this would be my second choice.
