Islam and Homosexuality: Muslim Perspectives - Panel Tomorrow
This Sunday (TOMORROW), Allied in Pride is hosting a panel discussion featuring prominent Muslims on campus to discuss Islam and homosexuality. The goal is to bring together a diverse-all Muslim panel for unique discussion.
The event will be Sunday, October 26th at 7 pm in the Continental Ballroom
Here is some information about the panelists:
- Zahir Janmohamed: Director of Advocacy, Middle East and North Africa, Amnesty International USA
- Imam Johari Abdul Malik: Director of Outreach, Dar al Hijrah Islamic Center
- Dr. Amal Amireh: Professor of Women and Gender Studies, George Mason University
- Hisham Mahmoud: Lecturer, Princeton University and Executive Editor, Zaytuna Curriculum Series
- Imam Daayiee Abdullah: Al-Fatiha Foundation and the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Religious Roundtable
Allied in Pride is the largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and ally student organization at the George Washington University. Dating back to the 1970s, it serves both undergraduate and graduate students.
