The Hatchet Agrees
In our post a few days ago explaining how to destroy Juicy Campus, we called on the Hatchet to take a stand against the site as well. While I’m disappointed by the fact they didn’t use the phrase “loosest pussy on campus,” this is from today’s paper:
We applaud the student life blogs the GW Patriot and the Colonialist for their campaign to undermine Juicy Campus. Their creative, funny initiative to spam the site by posting random, banal information in place of gossip is inspired and shows ingenuity.
General student reaction has been encouraging, as most students agree that the site needs to be rendered useless. Juicy Campus is alive and well on other university campuses, and we are genuinely pleased that GW students are showing strong character by calling for everyone to spam the site into impotence.
We are firmly against censorship - what sort of newspaper would we be if we were not against it? - but we stand with the efforts against the site.
Juicy Campus deserves to go under.
I continue to be surprised by how many people are helping us with this. I’ve maybe spent about fifteen of my own minutes working on this, but the site continues to be filled with our posts. We know that you’ve been slacking in the effort because of midterms, but thank the Hatchet by posting a few more pieces of poetry or Wikipedia articles right now. That includes you, Hatchet writers.
It only works if we keep it up.
[TRAVIS EDIT: I've been hearing from multiple sources that the SA is considering banning the website. This is absurd. No website should EVER be banned on our network. It is up to the student body whether or not they want to stop Juicy Campus, certainly not the Student Government.]
Now, I refuse to waste any more time talking about that shit-show of a website. Here is something way more important:

Just for the record, the SA has absolutely no power to ban websites.
They could, of course pass a resolution urging the administration to bad it, which the university could then use as cover to get rid of it.
This is an awesome idea. It shows maturity that we can regulate ourselves without the intervention of student [or any kind of] government. i feel proud to be at gw.

Can we talk what a sweet book The Hatchet is and/or how I had to read it for grad school? Actually, come to think of it if GW Hatchet was more like The Hatchet (i.e. throwing up from too many choke berries, moose (meese? mooses? mice?) attacks, planes with fish-eaten corpses, and legitimate irony) how I would read it all the time! Can we have a The Hatchet outing thing where we have hatchets, build shelters, and hunt fish in the Kogan fountain?
Also, obviously there should be no censorship, only massive infiltration which leads to internal combustion concerning Juicy Campus.
