YES WE DID!!
Barack Obama!
BARACK OBAMA!
AMERICA!
Barack Obama just gave the most awe-inspiring, jaw-dropping, intellectually honest, honest, beautiful speech I’ve ever heard in my life. His face, his eyes, his voice: a serrated poem of a man.
Yes we can.
Yes we did.
Yes we will.

Here’s the footage of Obama’s Victory Speech. It’s unbelievable.
Here’s ABCNews footage of the rally at the White House tonight (featuring Colonialist Writer Kirk Larsen)
Here’s CSpan footage of me meeting Barack Obama last night (It’s at 40 minutes in).

Hahaha! I’m so glad you made it into that shot, Kirky!!!
I am so happy. I haven’t been this happy, ever.
Yes we did?
Really? What have you done? The man doesn’t take office until Jan 20.
Barack Obama won an election. His “Yes We Can” mantra is about getting his agenda accomplished. If he fulfills his promises to change America, then have fun chanting “Yes We Did.”
AJ, are you playing dumb just so you can come off as bitter? You obviously know both that you know what “yes we did” means, and that those who are saying it know both what it means, and what you just wrote.
yes we can get his agenda accomplished.
yes we did take the first step in doing so by electing him president.
yes we will continue to take more steps to achieve progress.
AJ, we elected an African-American president.
We elected a president who says things like:
I would not be standing here tonight without the unyielding support of my best friend for the last sixteen years, the rock of our family and the love of my life, our nation’s next First Lady, Michelle Obama. Sasha and Malia, I love you both so much, and you have earned the new puppy that’s coming with us to the White House.
AND
So let us summon a new spirit of patriotism: of service and responsibility where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and look after not only ourselves, but each other. Let us remember that if this financial crisis taught us anything, its that we cannot have a thriving Wall Street while Main Street suffers - in this country, we rise or fall as one nation; as one people.
And he didn’t say:
I have something else to ask you, to ask every American. I ask for you to pray for this great nation. I ask for your prayers for leaders from both parties. I thank you for your prayers for me and my family, and I ask you to pray for Vice President Gore and his family.
(2000)
OR
There’s an old saying, “Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers; pray for powers equal to your tasks.”
(2004)
To be fair, in 2004, Bush said: When we come together and work together, there is no limit to the greatness of America.
AJ, the fact of his win is a gigantic change for America.
The fact of that change has the potential to facilitate the necessary changes to come.
If I have to explain in detail every single thing I post, I’ll start.
if you do not post a new blog by November 19, I will remove you from my favorites and bookmarks.
HUMPH.
Dear The Colonialist,
Whatever we said that made you go away…well, we didn’t mean it. Honest.
We miss you. We miss your voice, your touch. Damn it, we need you. We had a great thing going–you were the Roe to our Wade, the EZ in our 1040 form, the Coors Light at our McFadden’s Happy Hour. Everything just seems so empty without you.
Oh God, please come back. We don’t want to be alone again.
Love,
The GW Patriot
